Family Fun Run entries selling fast
January 24, 2016 // Rachel Ellis
Following the sell out of general public entries for the 2016 Vitality Bath Half Marathon back in December, Running High Events have confirmed that entries for the 2016 Family Fun Run are also selling fast.
The Family Fun Run takes places on Vitality Bath Half Marathon race day, Sunday 13th March, and covers a distance of just under a mile. Aimed at runners of all ages and abilities the run starts and finishes at the half marathon start line on Great Pulteney Street. Each year a charity partner is chosen and fun runners are encouraged to fundraise for the cause.
Bath Rugby Foundation is the Official Family Fun Run Charity for 2016. Bath Rugby Foundation is a charitable foundation with a distinctive mission: reaching people at key times in their lives to make a positive impact. The Foundation aims to help people tackle difficult challenges such as unemployment and social isolation and works with children and young people who are among the most vulnerable in our local area.
The entry fee is £6.30 for children under the age of sixteen, and £10.30 for runners aged sixteen and above. All Fun Run entrants receive a free Bath Rugby Foundation t-shirt, and there is a medal and goody bag for all finishers. Please go to http://bathhalf.co.uk/the-event/family-fun-run/ for further details and to http://bathhalf.co.uk/entries/ to register for the Family Fun Run. Children under the age of eleven must be accompanied by an adult.
Race Director Andrew Taylor commented: “Places for the Family Fun Run are selling quickly, and we are urging anyone who would like to take part in this year’s Fun Run to sign up as soon as possible.
“The Family Fun Run is a great opportunity for families and novice runners to experience the atmosphere and thrill of a big sporting event. If you are running the half marathon then get the rest of the family involved so that you can celebrate your running achievements together after the event.“
There are a few options to still enter this year’s Vitality Bath Half Marathon. Over 115 official charities, including the Bath Rugby Foundation, are involved with the Vitality Bath Half Marathon 2016 and some charities still have places available. Anyone wishing to run should go to www.bathhalf.co.uk/charities/list-of-charities/ for a list of all the 2016 charities, and contact their chosen charity’s events team directly.
