Bath City Farm

Applicant: Bath City Farm
Date: 17/12/2012
Grant Awarded: £1,500

Project:
For two play workers to continue to run Young Farmers Youth Club

What the grant recipient said:
The money made a fantastic contribution to the staff and materials costs for our Saturday club for 5-10 year olds. This is a club that enables local young children to help with the running of the farm and to play and get muddy in our 37 acre open green space.

What the Bath Half team said:
The Bath City Farm is a truly inspiring project with a mission to build a caring and healthy community, in the heart of a disadvantaged area of Bath. The community is involved in the development and maintenance of this massive open green space, which has one of the best views across our beautiful city!

The farm’s Saturday ‘young farmers’ club, which our grant has supported, is regularly over-subscribed – something that doesn’t surprise who as the activities offered by the play workers make us want to go along and get muddy, feed the animals and build a bonfire too.
