2018 Bath Half Family Fun Run cancellation
Cancelling Sunday’s half marathon and Family Fun Run was the toughest thing we’ve every had to do since we began organising the Bath Half 18 years ago. We were broken-hearted on Friday, thinking of all our runners, race charities and our volunteers, and all the training, effort and work you have put in to this year’s race.
The support and the lovely messages that you took the time to send us following that decision via social media and email, has really lifted us all here at Bath Half HQ, and we can’t thank you enough.
We couldn’t create and sustain an event like the Bath Half without the support of our runners, our fun runners, our volunteers, our charity partners, our contractors, the residents and businesses of Bath – you are at the heart of the success of this race and for that we would like to say a huge thank you.
We look forward to seeing you on the Family Fun Run start line in March 2019!

We are working with our registration provider to build a refund process as easy and as simple as possible for our runners. You don’t need to contact us to request a refund, the process will be automated and the refund will be made to the card you paid with. If that has changed please do not worry – we will contact any runners whose refund is rejected by the system and make alternative arrangements for you to receive the refund
Donating your refund to charity
We have been overwhelmed by the number of runners wanting to donate their refund to charity. So we are going to offer an option for runners to donate their refund to the Bath Half Marathon Fund (managed by Quartet Community Foundation) which we set up fifteen years ago as a way of supporting small local charities and voluntary groups within Bath & North East Somerset. You can read more about the work of our fund on our website. Please notify us using this form if you would to donate your entry fee to the Bath Half Marathon Fund. Alternatively please feel free to donate your entry fee to a charity of your own choice.
Please return your timing chips
We need you to post your timing chip back to us. Your chip was sent to you in a pre-paid envelope addressed to SportSystems – so you can just pop that straight in the post if the envelope is unopened. If you’ve already opened your envelope then please pop the chip into a fresh envelope with a stamp and post to:

If you haven’t yet opened your race pack, simply cross out your address , mark ‘Return to Sender’ on the front of the envelope and post your whole race pack back to us.
This will make a huge difference to us – the chips are recyclable and can be used again and again, which helps us keeps costs down for future events.
