Whether you’re a Vitality Bath Half veteran or a first timer, we hope you’ll find plenty of information here to help you prepare for your Vitality Bath Half. We’ll be adding to this section as the weeks tick by, so do check back to see more.

Winter Training Tips
There is no getting around the fact that a spring race requires our runners to bank the bulk of their training miles during the cold, winter months. With that in mind we have included some winter training tips here in the support section of our website. Read more

Training Plans
As our attention now turns to preparing for race day we know that our runners are beginning to tun their attention to their half marathon training. With this in mind we have asked friend of the Bath Half, Martin Yelling, to prepare some training plans for our runners.  Martin is a former elite athlete with a PhD in physical activity and health promotion and is the founder and co presenter of the UK’s number 1 running podcast ‘Marathon Talk’.  His 14-week training plans are designed for beginner, improver and advanced runners, so we hope you will find something that suits the stage you are at in your half marathon journey.

Medical advice
To support our runners the Vitality Bath Half has teamed up with the race directors and race doctors from the largest races in the UK (including the London Marathon and the Great North Run) to set up the most authoritative guide for down to earth advice on health, fitness and training, hydration, eating and preparation for endurance races.

Local training groups & clubs
Joining a running group or club can really help keep you motivated and offer tips and knowledge as you prepare for the Bath Half. We have put together a list of local groups and clubs in the Bath & Bristol area.

Hydration for Runners
We’re often asked questions by our runners, particularly those who are new to running half marathons, about how much they should be drinking on race day, and sometimes we’re asked about hydration in training too Read more
