Use your Bath Half place to raise vital funds for our race charities
January 23, 2018 // Rachel Ellis
Runners at the 2017 Bath Half set a new personal best record by raising over £2.25million for our official race charities. In recent years the Bath Half has been one of the top running events in the UK terms of fundraising, and our on-line donation partner, JustGiving, reported that the average amount raised by an individual Bath Half runner in 2017 was a whopping £520!
Sometimes, during a busy day in the office, when the list of jobs seems too long, and race day seems far too close for comfort, it’s important to take a couple of minutes to remember everything that our runners achieve – beyond the 13.1miles – when they take to the streets of Bath on a chilly March morning each year.
2018 seems to be shaping up to be another fantastic fundraising year in Bath. Many of our 130 official charity teams have reported that all of their spaces have been filled, and just a few charities are looking for a few extra runners to take one of their team places.
If you’ve already entered the race and are keen to raise a few quid on March 4th, then do consider choosing one of our official race charities to run for.
We are thrilled to have Alzheimer’s Society on board as our Bath Half 2018 Lead Charity.
Alzheimer’s Society tell us that by 2020 over 1 million people will be living with the condition in the UK and the Society’s biggest initiative – the Dementia Friends programme – aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. If we can play a tiny part in helping them achieve this, then we will be exceptionally proud.
We are also supporting the following charities (their details can be found on our website by clicking on their names below):
Local Charity Appeal:
Action Against Child Poverty
Family Fun Run Charity:
The Bath Half Community Fund
Series Charity Partner:
Macmillan Cancer Support
The Bath Half have partnered with JustGiving as our Official Online Giving Partner for the 2018 race. It is incredibly easy to set up your online fundraising page, and JustGiving will send your donation directly to your chosen charity.
Thank you Bath Halfers, for all that you do. We’re wishing you all the very best for your 2018 training and fundraising.
