2021 Bath Half Update

We hope you and your family have kept well and safe during the past 100 days. It’s been a very difficult and worrying time for us all

We have been heartened watching our BathHalfers’ activities in lockdown, and to see so many of you locally enjoying your running on footpaths, countryside and roads around the City, also by the many messages of support received to the office

We normally open entries for next year’s race the morning after the Bath Half. This year we have waited for clarity on restrictions on future road running events

As the UK emerges from lockdown we have been working with partner events, event partners, medical and public health advisors to develop a framework for the safe return of our sport in a safe and sustainable manner

We are developing a number of alternative plans for next year’s Bath Half designed to address a range of different possible scenarios, from the most optimistic possibility of a return to ‘normal’ at one end of the spectrum through to having to incorporate continuing restrictions and social distancing at the other – including a significant reduction in entry numbers, alternative course route options and alternative dates in case of local lockdown – to ensure runner and public safety.  We are currently undertaking a further round of stakeholder discussions

The good news is that we will be opening entries for 2021 and publishing details of our flexible plans very shortly! Watch this space…
