Hannah’s Willberry Wonder Pony was founded by Hannah Francis, a young event rider from Somerset who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer, the day after her 17th birthday.

Hannah, and her #chiefchemopony Willberry, got up to all sorts of adventures whilst #kickingcancersbutt – from beach rides, to representing GB in Ireland, Hannah was determined to ‘Dream Big, Fight Hard, and Never Give Up’ even whilst battling gruelling treatment.

Whilst heartbreakingly, treatment was unsuccessful for Hannah, whilst she faced bleak prognosis her focus was on others, and what she could do to ensure nobody had to face the same horrific treatment for Osteosarcoma as her in the future. Hence, she set up her charity with two missions:

Willberry’s Research: Funding ground-breaking research into osteosarcoma treatment, currently we have 7+ research projects.

Willberry’s Wishes: Granting equine-related experiences to those battling serious illnesses. Hannah sadly passed away in August 2016, but with the help of Willberry, and a small team of volunteers, her charity and incredible legacy remain strong. We continue to be #inspiredbyHannah to keep #kickingcancersbutt forever and always. X
