Kids Cancer Charity is delighted to join Bath Half, expanding our Challenge team at the same time as our UK Breaks holiday programme. With the recent addition of Noah’s Retreat, a luxury lodge on the Haven site at Burnham-on-Sea, we can now support an additional 60 or so families annually with a care break providing quality time together away from the hospital environment. Since we are now operating in Somerset we look forward to running here too, in this the largest sporting, community and charity event in the south west.

Join Team Kids Cancer Charity and in return for a pledge to raise a minimum £200, you will receive a running top, fundraising tips and tricks, and training support, as well as the feelgood factor of knowing you are donating your run to children affected by cancer and their families.

We are a national charity supporting children with cancer and their families through their challenging journey. Life changes when a child is diagnosed with cancer, every aspect of their life and that of their family is thrown into turmoil. We care and we understand the complexity of emotions and rigorous physical demands of treatment. Our wish is for children affected by cancer and their families to not feel alone. For over 30 years we have been providing play therapy and care breaks for families from all over the UK.

It can be challenging to find the balance of emotional and psychosocial wellbeing when the physical demands of cancer are overwhelming and unrelenting medical regimes become a necessary priority. We understand that when a child is suffering with cancer that family members are also affected as they provide essential support through a gruelling cancer journey. Everyday life for children suffering with cancer is challenging, where significant physical and emotional obstacles make each day an upward battle.

Want to do something fun? Are you up for a challenge?

By fundraising for us you will be supporting the wellbeing of children affected by cancer and their families. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or complete novice you’ll be doing something amazing by taking on a charity challenge.

Children battling cancer can find themselves absent from school for extended periods of time meaning limited friendship and support circles, family becomes even more invaluable. Forced separation from parents and siblings during treatment regimes can leave children affected by cancer and their siblings having to deal with a wide range of experiences and emotions that are new and can be troubling.

Your efforts will make a valuable difference to the children and families we support.
