What we do

We support anyone, of any age, from the towns of Teignmouth, Dawlish and Chudleigh (and the villages in between) who is lonely and isolated and needs some support but doesn’t quite know what or where to turn to find it

We help people to find and access a range of support services,  linking them with other community and voluntary sector organisations in our community. We also work closely with the statutory sector and can help people to navigate these services. We also have Link Workers based in Dawlish Hospital who provide a similar service to patients on the ward and their families.

Our Story

In 2007, each of the local surgeries had their own volunteer transport schemes to get people to their GP appointments. Volunteering in Health was formed to bring these separate schemes together as one; streamlining the existing systems to offer a better service for the clients. Since then the charity has grown to offer a much wider range of services.

Our Support Workers work with people indefinitely to provide the support they need to live more happily, safely and independently. There is a particular focus on people with memory problems and life limiting conditions and their families.
