Make A Move

Make a Move designs and delivers projects which combine music and movement, talking therapy, relaxation techniques and mindfulness to achieve its charitable aim which is to advance education and to promote and protect the good health of people who have special educational, behavioural or emotional needs through sessions in music and movement.

Established in 2011, Make a Move’s work has brought significant social and mental health benefits to people whose lives are affected by social exclusion including older people, disabled people, children living in poverty, mothers with postnatal depression and people with learning disabilities.

Make a Move has been awarded £1000 to enable a practitioner to work with pupils from Fosse Way School in Radstock for an hour a week over an academic year. Fosse Way School is a school for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

The practitioner will guide the pupils in music, movement and touch which will lead to improving the participants’ mental and physical wellbeing in order to improve their daily interactions, advance their social skills and boost their confidence.
