Mentoring Plus

Mentoring Plus offers a unique programme of early intervention mentoring support for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people (aged 7-21) in Bath & North East Somerset.

Young people benefit from personal support from our qualified practitioners, weekly one-to-one mentoring sessions with an adult volunteer mentor and door-to-door transport to a range of free, community-based activities delivered in partnership with local organisations and centres of excellence.

Mentoring Plus work with up to 250 children and young people each year who are often living chaotic lives, in households coping with low incomes, health issues and family breakdown. Young people are in need of extra support with issues such as isolation, low self-esteem, emotional difficulties, drug and alcohol misuse, and disengagement from education.

In January 2019 we launched our work running the open-access youth club at Riverside Youth Hub on a Thursday evening, and from Easter we increased to a Wednesday night open-access activity project night.

A grant of £500 has been awarded to help fund the continuation of the youth club from January 2020.
