Wansdyke Play Association is one of six local charities delivering the Lifestyle Change Project, funded by the 2018 BATH HALF MARATHON OFFICIAL LOCAL CHARITY APPEAL, the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign

WPA provide a variety of services for children, young people and their families in need of extra support. They work with children and families with additional needs and those struggling with social isolation. They also have significant experience of working with children/young people who have suffered trauma from bereavement, abuse or who face having a parent in jail.

Whatever the reason for a child’s behavioural, social and emotional struggles, WPA offer them support through play based services. These services include 1:1 support, small nurture/play groups, as well as training and skill development courses to help people to develop confidence, and outreach community play ranger projects.

In addition, WPA run a Youth Club (NYC), and a Saturday Club which is a friendly support group designed for and by members aged 11 – 18 years with additional needs.

Running the Bath Half Marathon for WPA will help pay for vital support for vulnerable children and young people in the Somer Valley.

We ask you to raise a minimum of £175 and in return as a member of the WPA team you will receive:

  • – A WPA running vest or t-shirt, plus a little bag of goodies on the day
  • – A fundraising pack including great fundraising ideas and sponsorship forms
  • – An invitation to join our Running for WPA Facebook group to chat to other runners
  • – An invitation to take part in group runs (at times and places to be arranged by the team)
  • – Support from Stacey who is available via phone or email

If you are interested in running for us please contact Stacey via stacey@wpa-play.com or on 01761 470889.
