Dear Charity Partners,

Thank you all for your patience and support following our recent announcement to postpone our 2021 event to the 5th September. The news has been met with understanding from our entrants and we hope you have received a similar response from your charity supporters.  90% of public entrants have chosen to defer their entry to the new September date.

We have now completed the task of processing the postponement options so wanted to get in touch and share some updates with you.

New Charity Closing Date

Following the postponement, please note the closure deadline for registering charity place runners for the 2021 Bath Half Marathon has been extended to 4pm on Thursday 22nd July 2021. We will not be able to make any exceptions after this date.

Registration Links

All charities that have returned a signed copy of the Acceptance Form, should have now received instructions on how to set up a team page. You will need to register your team page on the Realbuzz registration console. By doing so, this will generate a registration link that you can share with your runners.

We understand that some of our charity partners may be unfamiliar with the new registration platform we are using so we would ask you to take a look at the instructions and to get in contact with us should you need any help and support.

Virtual Event Series

We have recently launched a virtual event series, this includes a 5k, 10k and a half marathon distance to keep runners motivated to train during the cold, dark winter months. We are asking entrants to the virtual half marathon to complete the distance over the original event date of 13th/14th March.  For more information on the virtual series please take a look here. This may present a possible fundraising opportunity for you.

Charity Forum

We are, of course, unable to host our annual charity forum this year in person so we have been considering alternatives and will be proposing a series of virtual forum events on specific topics. Topics may include; Introduction to the BATHALF Charity Scheme, using the Realbuzz registration platform, JustGiving update on online fundraising and best practice (runner recruitment, runner retention, maximising fundraising). More information will be shared with you in due course and if you have any thoughts or suggestions on what you would like to hear about please do let us know.

Charity Hub

We will soon be launching a new charity hub that will be available via our website and our current year charity partners will be invited to visit (you will require a login and password to gain access). This will be a central place where you will find all documentation and information related to the Bath Half and we hope you will find it to be a valuable resource to support you in maximising your fundraising from the event. More information will be to follow on this.

Dropbox

We have added event logos (along with our brand guidelines) and photos from the 2020 event to the charity Dropbox to help support your marketing. If you have not received an invite to view the folder, please let us know and we will share details with you.

Entrants Profiling

We have also added some profiling information from the 2020 entrants to the charity Dropbox (2020 folder) to help support your marketing. This includes their demographics and where most of our runners are coming from.

Facebook Group

Just to remind you that we have a closed charity Facebook group for our Charity Partners. This is a great place to connect with other charities and to share and discuss tips and advice. If you haven’t already joined, please request to become a member of the group. Search for ‘Bath Half Charity Partner Network’.

Charity Team

We wanted to let you know that Kayley, our Charity Director, has recently left the Bath Half Running High team. Rachel and Solene will continue to be your main points of contact for day to day charity matters.

Thanks for your continued support. Please get in touch if you have any questions on any of the above.

Best wishes,

Bath Half Charity Team
