Vitality Bath Half Runners' Newsletter Christmas 2015
Hello and welcome to the Christmas edition of our 2016 Vitality Bath Half runners’ newsletter,
All general public entries to the 2016 Bath Half have now sold out, so congratulations on securing your place.
It is now just under 12 weeks until you will be joining 14,999 on the start line on Sunday 13 March!
If you have friends, family or colleagues who missed out on a general public place then we still have some places available for business teams in our Corporate Challenge.
Reserved charity places are also still available for our lead charity, Macmillan Cancer Support and our other official race charities. Charities are reporting that their places are selling quickly this year – a record breaking 1,300 runners are already registered to run for our lead charity. If friends or family are keen to take on a fitness and fundraising challenge in 2016 then please urge them to sign up now.
Thanks to those of you who have already entered with one of our official charities and good luck with your training and fundraising.
From all of us at Bath Half HQ, we’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2016
All the best,
| || Training over the festive season |
If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at our Bath Half training plans then you can find one for your level of fitness and running experience here. They have been produced by former elite athlete Martin Yelling, who is co-presenter of the UK’s number 1 running podcast, Marathon Talk. We’ve also been taking a look through our blog archive this week and found a great post by Martin about how you and your training can survive during the Christmas festivities.
| || We've made the shortlist! |
Thank you to everyone who voted for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon in the 2016 Running Awards. We are delighted to have now made the shortlist in the half marathon category! If you voted to get the Bath Half onto the shortlist, you can vote again now in the second round to get your favourite half marathon onto the podium. Voting is open until 20 April.
| || Can we raise even more money in 2016? |
Our Bath Half runners raised an unbelievable £2.1 million in 2015 – on average that equates to every charity runner raising £454 each! We’re hoping our 2016 runners will rise to the challenge once again, supporting our official race charities. You can read more about our race charities and get some great fundraising tips from our Charity & Creative Director, Mel Taylor on this week’s blog
| || If you've moved we need you new address |
If you’ve moved house since you registered your entry, 26th December is also the closing date for notifying us of any change in your registered postal address for your race pack. Please notify us using our website contact form.
| || Prostate Cancer UK |
Prostate Cancer UK helps more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We provide services to men and their families like our Specialist Nurses, one-to-one support and information leaflets. We’re leading the way in providing prostate education to medical professionals. And we don’t take no for an answer when it comes to fighting our campaigns.
Join Men United, our movement for everyone who believes men are worth fighting for. Help us beat prostate cancer, the most common form of cancer in men that one man in the UK dies from every hour.
| || Teenage Cancer Trust |
Jade was just 23 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Now, 3 years to the day of her diagnosis, she’ll be running the Bath Half for Teenage Cancer Trust for the third time. Will you join her?
Make your race count and join the team before 31 December to be in with the chance of winning a pair of adidas trainers worth £100. There’s no minimum sponsorship ask – just raise what you can! For every young person we can help, there’s another we can’t. Join us and help make sure every young person with cancer gets the care they deserve.
| || Involve the rest of the family in your Bath Half day |
Entries to our popular family fun run are now open. The Family Fun Run is open to entrants of all ages and abilities. It starts and finishes under the Half Marathon gantry in Great Pulteney Street, after the start of the half marathon. There is a free t-shirt for every entrant and a medal and goody bag to all finishers. Our official family fun run charity is the Bath Rugby Foundation
| || Cancellation & Refund Policy |
We offer a partial refund of £10 (or a £10 credit towards an entry for the 2017 Vitality Bath Half) to half marathon applicants who cancel their entry before the date we start to process our race pack mail out on 26th December 2015. After 26th December 2015 we offer a guaranteed place in the 2017 half marathon (you still have to pay the discounted on-line entry fee) if you notify us of your withdrawal and return your race number and IPICO timing chip to us before race day. Half Marathon and Fun Run entries are personally registered to the entrant and cannot be transferred to another runner. Cancellation and refund requests must be made using our online cancellation form.
