Vitality Bath Half Newsletter - One Week to Go!
With just under one week to go until you hit the road for the 2015 Vitality Bath Half Marathon, we’ve put together some last minute preparation tips and advice for those taking part.
If you have any further queries please check out our website or catch-up with us on Twitter or Facebook.
| || Final week preparation... |
Here are a few things to remember as you enter your last week before the half marathon…
- You can’t get any fitter now so just stick to gentle runs now. Taper your distance and intensity.
- Plan your rest day so you will be nice and fresh for the big day. We suggest Friday or Saturday for a (very) light run.
- Eat well. Don’t eat anything different on the days leading up to the half marathon. Eat breakfast a good 2 to 3 hours before your run.
- Pack your kit the day before: remember warm clothes and protein bar or recovery drink for after the run. We know it won’t rain, but just in case, maybe pack some spare trainers.
- Please remember to complete the next of kin details on the back of your race number, and to fix your runner number to your front before you leave and make sure you go into the right holding bay for your number – marshals will be checking these on the day.
- And finally, I’m afraid we are a dog and buggy free event. We have lots of runners out there and Bath is not the biggest place, so please don’t run with buggies or doggies…

We’ve got soul, funk, jazz, folk, pop, rock and even a 13-piece Blues Brothers tribute act helping get you round the course. So please, please, please, listen to what we (or they) have to offer and leave your ipods and earphones at home.
