Vitality Bath Half Runner's Newsletter March 2016
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Bath Half Runners’ Newsletter.
We are now just over a week out from race day and the countdown is well and truly underway.
Once again our runners have had to battle through some pretty terrible weather in order to get race fit by March. Seeing you clocking up the miles in and around Bath and hearing about your training via social media is genuinely inspiring.
As always for this time of year, we are completely obsessed with the weather forecast! We’re hoping for a stretch of dry weather now to give our Runners Village some time to dry out before race day.
All race packs should now have been received, apart from our overseas entrants. If you have not received your race pack then please follow the instructions on our Race Pack Information page and notify us through the form on the page.
Enjoy the next week – you’ve done all the hard work, have an easy mileage week and feeling the excitement build.
We’ll be back in touch next week with important information for race day and looking forward to seeing you all on 13th !
With best wishes,
| || Getting to the race |
The pocket sized Race Day Guide in your race pack contains important information about travelling into Bath on race day. More detailed and up to date information about train services and Park & Ride can be found on the Travel Information page on our website, and race day updates will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Make a plan now to take the stress out of your day. We call half marathon runners to their start pens at 10am as it takes an hour to move thousands of runners into position. Getting to the Race Village with plenty of time to spare and to the soak up the atmosphere will get your race off to a better start.
| || Ditch the headphones - there'll be plenty of music on the day |
The line up for our Battle of the Bands competition has now been confirmed and we have some great local bands showcasing their talent and helping to keep you entertained all around the course. You can see more about the bands over on our website and we’ll be in touch after race day asking our runners to vote for their favourite band. We ask you to ditch your headphones and soak up the atmosphere that the Bath Half is famed for. You can read more about our headphone policy on our race day FAQ
| || Be prepared |
If this is your first half marathon, or you first time at the Vitality Bath Half, then we know you can feel a little apprehensive before race day. We have prepared a race day FAQ which will hopefully help answer any questions you might have and if you’re a first timer, you can see some race day tips (gathered from your fellow runners) here. We’ve also just posted a blog to help your hard working support crew make the most of their Bath Half day too
