| || The Action Against Child Poverty |
The Bath Half Marathon Community Fund are very proud to support the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign. The campaign was launched by St John’s Foundation with a coalition of partner organisations last year, after local authority statistics revealed that one in five children in Bath were living in poverty, particularly in Twerton as well as Southdown, Abbey and Odd Down. The campaign aims to reduce child deprivation and poverty by 50% over the next four years.
Please help us to reduce child poverty in Bath by setting up a fundraising page on JustGiving All monies raised will go direct to St John’s Foundation to support organisations delivering programmes and initiatives working to tackle child poverty in Bath and North East Somerset.
| || Stay warm |
It looks like it could be a very chilly start to race morning so make sure you wear lots of layers to keep you warm while you wait for the start. And of course don’t forget to wear your Family Fun Run t-shirt too!
| || About the run |
Family Fun Run entrants are asked to assemble at the end of Edward Street, you can watch the half marathon start from here, so that we can get you into the start pen immediately after the half marathon is clear, at about 11.15am.
The Family Fun Run is approximately 3/4 of a mile long and on closed traffic-free roads. It starts in Great Pulteney Street, going down Pulteney Road, turning round at North Parade Road, and returning to the start. The best place for family and friends to watch the Family Fun Run is the south side of Great Pulteney Street near the Holburne Museum end. This is close to the start assembly point in Edward Street, and easy to get to the Family Fun Run exit in the Runners Village (via Edward Street, Pulteney Mews and the turnstile gate), without having to try and cross the road or go the long way round Grand Parade, North Parade and the Sports Centre.
| || After the race |
Remember that Family Fun Run entrants under the age of 11 years must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult. Parents of unaccompanied older children must ensure their children are accompanied to the start and met at the Family Fun Run exit in the Runners Village behind Bath Sports Centre after they have collected their goody bag. Please ensure an adult is there ready to meet them.
All Family Fun Runners will be chip timed and your results will be published on the race website by the end of race day. As this is a fun run, no prizes will be given, but all finishers will receive a finisher’s medal and goody bag in the Runners Village.
