Bath Half Marathon Charity Update
Hope you are all well. Can you believe it’s just over 4 weeks to go until race day?!! It feels like we came back to Bath Half HQ after Christmas, blinked and all of sudden January had gone and we’re now well into February.
Please find below some information and important updates including info on our Race Weekend Briefing, 2021 packages and fundraising updates.
So grab a coffee and enjoy – we appreciate it’s a lengthy one but hopefully you’ll find it useful.

| || Charity registration deadline |
A big milestone in our calendar has just passed…the charity registration deadline! We will be so glad not to have to type that date out anymore!
We’re still doing some analysis but it is looking like we have hit a charity sell on rate of 79% this year. This increases to 84% if we are to take out two national charities who we know didn’t have an account manager looking after the event until the end of last year.
This year we had our biggest number of charity partners (145!) taking a record number of entries (5500!) in the race so we are delighted with the sell on rate and we hope you are too.
We wanted to thank you all for getting your entrants to register on time, it’s not an easy challenge we know! The data went across to our mailing house that evening and they have already started to pack and send out your runners race packs.
| || Preliminary fundraising figure |
Our latest JustGiving report is showing that to date an enormous £545,000 has been raised through the donation platform. This is a 42% increase on this time last year which is absolutely phenomenal!
The ‘page creation’ percentage is roughly the same however we are seeing a huge increase on pages activated (pages receiving a donation). The messaging that you are sending out and that we are including in our newsletters is obviously hitting hard so let’s all keep up the good work and see if we can beat our previous record fundraising figures of £2.25m raised in 2017.
| || Race pack information |
Race packs are being sent out in batches according to predicted finish time and postcode area. Race packs for all Half Marathon entrants and fun run entrants should arrive on or before 2nd March.
Race pack contents include; race number, timing chip and race day guide. To view and download the 2020 race day guide please take a look here,
For information on how to request a replacement race pack (want to move to a faster pen or they’ve moved house without notifying us) or a substitute race pack (not received by the 2nd March) please take a look here.
| || 2021 Charity Packages are now open |
We have now launched our Charity Packages for the Bath Half Marathon 2021. You should all by now have received an email from us with a invite to apply for Charity Entries and information on how to apply for a Lead or Top Tier package or a General Charity package.
You can find the information here however this is a public facing page so the prices for our Lead and Top Tier packages are hidden. If you are interested in of these packages and cannot find your original email, please get in contact with us asap.
The closing date for the Lead and Top Tier package applications is Friday 14th February 2020.
The closing date for existing race charities to apply for a General Charity Package is Friday 15th May 2020.
We are launching entries for 2021 on the evening of this years’ race so it is definitely worth getting your packages/entries secured early to capitalise on the high of this year.
| || Race Weekend Briefing |
We are working hard on getting our Charity Race Weekend Briefing ready however there are a couple of logistical changes and we aren’t quite ready to send this out yet.
In the mean time, you can find our Reserved Individual Marquee allocation and map, General Charity Hall table plan and key, Runners Village map and Venue map here.
We will update you when the full briefing is uploaded to that page via email.
Thank you for your patience.
| || Our final coffee morning for 2020's race |
Our final coffee morning drop in session before race day will be on Tuesday 3rd March.
We have decided to arrange a site visit so we will be meeting at Bath Cricket Club at 10am for a walkaround what will become the Runner’s Village. We will then head back to the Cricket Club at 11am afterwards for a coffee.
We need to know if you are planning on attending this session so that we don’t set off without anyone. Please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with a contact number for yourself on the day.
Please note, due to building works, there is no parking at the Cricket Club. The nearest car park is the pay and display at Bath Sports Centre. N Parade Rd, Bath, BA2 4ET
