Bath Half Newsletter July 2017
We’re really pleased to have you on board for the 2018 race!
If you have colleagues, friends or family members who are keen to run too, then please get them to sign up sooner rather than later as it looks like we’ll sell out earlier than expected. We’ve already sold over 60% of entries.

This week we have announced record charity fundraising figures for this year’s race. If you ran for charity in 2017 then we’d like to say a huge thank you for raising the most amazing amount of money. The Bath Half has set a new personal best with a record sum of over £2.25 million raised at this year’s event.
This seems like an almost unbelievable amount of money to us – an amount that makes us so proud to be part of this race and this city. Our runners have made the Bath Half the leading UK race (outside of London) for average per head fundraising. Fantastic!
If you’re keen to raise money for the 2018 race then take a look at our list official race charities here. Each of the charities have a page on our website where you can find out how to become part of their team
All the best

Since the introduction of our charity scheme in 2000 a staggering total of £21 million has now been raised at the event. In 2017 both our Lead Race Charity and our Official Local Charity raised record amounts, with Cancer Research UK raising just over £200,000, and Dorothy House Hospice Care raising £70,000. We are particularly pleased that three local charities rank in the top 12 of our overall fundraisers – Dorothy House Hospice Care, Bath RUH Forever Friends Appeal and Julian House.

We are thrilled to have Alzheimer’s Society on board as our Bath Half 2018 Lead Charity. Alzheimer’s Society tell us that by 2020 over 1 million people will be living with the condition in the UK and the Society’s biggest initiative – the Dementia Friends programme – aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. If we can play a tiny part in helping them achieve this, then we will be exceptionally proud. You can read more about our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society on this month’s Bath Half blog
