Bath College Partners with Bath Half Family Fun Run for a second year

The Bath Half Marathon team are thrilled to confirm their partnership with Bath College for a second consecutive year in 2020. Bath College will once again partner the Bath Half Family Fun Run, which is now open for entries.

The Family Fun Run is open to all ages and abilities, and aims to foster a love of running from an early age! The event starts and finishes under the same gantry as the Half Marathon, and enjoys the same closed roads. The ¾ mile course takes in the initial leg of the Half Marathon and offers families and young people an opportunity to experience the atmosphere and excitement of the South West’s biggest mass participation sporting event.

Race Director, Andrew Taylor, commented: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to be partnering with Bath College again this year. As a key part of Bath’s events calendar, we value the support the event consistently receives from the local community and working with local partners is very important to us.

The Family Fun Run is a hugely popular race, offering a unique opportunity to try out running on closed roads in Bath, which is quite special. It’s a great way to introduce children (and grown-ups) to running in a safe environment, and more importantly, it’s great fun!’

Bath College students, studying for practical skills and internationally recognised qualifications in the complementary and spa therapies industry, here in the heart of the renowned spa town, also provide massages for runners before and after Bath Half Marathon.

Fiona Gilbert, Head of Marketing at Bath College added: ‘It’s great to be partnering with Bath Half Family Fun Run again this year. We recognise its importance as a local community event, and, as a college with roots based firmly in Bath, we’re very happy to be showing our support again in 2020.

The opportunity for our Sport, Complementary Therapy and Beauty students to run the post-race massage tent is a fantastic experience, and gives them the chance to showcase their skills in the wider community.’

Entry to the Family Fun Run is now open, and costs £6.80 per child and £10.80 per adult, including a free t-shirt, along with a medal and goody bag for all finishers.
