Raise money for a cause you love with Enthuse

So many of our runners use their place in the Bath Half to raise money for a charity close to their heart. Each year our runners raise between £1.8 and £2.2 million, contributing to charities locally, nationally and internationally.

In 2024 we are partnering with Enthuse to make it easy for you to go the extra mile and raise money for a cause you care about.

Set up your online fundraising page – it just takes a few quick steps – and Enthuse will send your donations directly to your chosen charity, and recover any gift aid for them.

5 tips for Bath Half fundraising success

If you’re taking part in the Bath Half for charity, then you might be wondering how to raise as much money as possible to support your cause.

Here are five quick tips from Enthuse to boost your fundraising success

1. Picture perfect

The best place to start is with a picture of yourself to reassure friends and family that they’re donating to the right person. It works, too! Fundraisers with a profile picture raise nearly three times more on average. While it may seem like a small thing, adding a profile picture at the beginning of your fundraising journey can make a big difference.

2. What’s your story?

When someone lands on your profile page, they may well know you but they might not know much about your chosen charity or what it means to you. Showing your connection to the cause can influence people’s decision to donate and how much.

It doesn’t have to be long – you could start with a little bit about the cause and why you picked them, and if you’ve got a personal story, add that in as well. Profiles that have a story raise over three times more on average.

3. Back yourself

While your thoughts will naturally jump to how others can donate to you, you might want to get the ball rolling yourself. Donating to your own fundraising page will help bump up the totaliser and it shows everyone how committed you are to your cause.

Self donating can also help set the tone in terms of the amount others give. If supporters can see what you yourself have given, they might try to match it. Fundraisers who self donate raise 58% more.

4. Keep everyone posted

Whether it’s posting a run from Strava, a picture of your training or a post about how you’re feeling, updates are a great way to keep people in the loop. It’s always nice to see how someone’s training is getting on and seeing your dedication might just inspire some more donations.

Fundraisers who post an update raise 75% more on average, which goes to show that an updated page is a healthy page.

5. Give thanks

Did you know that you can reply to donors on your official Bath Half fundraising page to say ‘thank you’? Every time a donation comes in you’ll be notified by email. All you’ll have to do is log in to your fundraising page, hit reply to the donor and you can tell them what their donation means to you.

This is a great way to let current and future donors know how much you appreciate them. So much so that fundraisers who say ‘thank you’ have 48% more donors on average.

We hope these tips prove helpful and set you on the path to fundraising success.
