Dorothy House raises over £750K at the Bath Half

In 2020 Dorothy House became the second local charity to raise over £3/4 million pounds at the Bath Half after Bath RUH Forever Friends Appeal in 2019.

The Bath Half charity scheme was set up when Running High Events took over management of the event in 2000, to maximise the fundraising potential of the event – which is now the largest charity fundraising event in the South West – with a particular focus on local charities within Bath & North East Somerset.

“We are always so proud to take part in the Bath Half Marathon. Over the years this event has brought countless amazing people together to help support and fundraise for so many worthy charities and our local community.

For Dorothy House this event has not only become one of our biggest annual fundraising activities but has helped us raise vital income for patient care.

We have now taken part in the event every year since 2002 and are pleased to announce that the total income from this event has surpassed £750,000.

We think that is simply staggering and is a direct result of our amazing supporters, volunteers, their dedication and all the hard work that goes on all year round from the Bath Half Marathon team.

We are very proud and thankful for all of our runners that brave the elements and sacrifice through training to take part in this fantastic event to raise funds for Dorothy House.

We look forward to celebrating with our amazing supporters and volunteers at this event long into the future.”

Don Kennedy – Head of Community, Corporate and Events – Dorothy House

Dorothy House provides compassionate care and support for people in our community with a life-limiting illness. Their focus is on quality of life, helping patients to live well and die well.

They give care and support to patients and their families across a 700sq mile area, which includes Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES) and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset. Their services are provided whenever and wherever they are needed; at home, in the Hospice, or at one of our outreach centres. They respect the uniqueness of each patient and their family and empower them to choose the type of care they receive.
