Purple Elephant runs services for families local to Frome who need support and are facing challenges. We support some of the most vulnerable in our community including those on low incomes, with additional needs and disabilities, displaced people and those experiencing abuse, poor mental health or prejudice. We run support groups, befriending, 1:1 work, activities, signposting and events, focusing on parenting support, developing self esteem and resilience, and ensuring our services are as accessible as possible. Our range of services are unique in the local area and offer support that other organisations don’t – we work together with other charities to make sure we are reaching as many families as possible with the most relevant help.

Running the Bath Half for us will really help us to keep running our vital services, which some describe as a lifeline. As a charity we are dependent on grants and donations and struggle to keep going financially. The support of local people is very important to us and follows our ethos of supporting and involving our whole local community.

Our charity places are free but we ask that you commit to raising at least £250 – if you don’t reach your target through sponsors we ask that you address the balance yourself.

In return we will be there on the day to support you with drinks and snacks, cheers and encouragement on the route, and will give you a runners T shirt to wear at the event. Your support will truly help us to support local families who are facing daily hardship
